Now Accepting 2016- 2017 D.R.E.A.M.S. Scholarship Applications!
The distinctive mission of D.R.E.A.M.S. is to encourage and support deserving students whose high school education was bolstered by an individualized education plan (I.E.P.)
This year’s round of scholarships is now open to students who are graduating from high school with a diploma or certificate of completion in 2017, who have also been accepted and enrolled in one of the following accredited environments beginning in the summer or fall 2017:
University or College
Vocational or Trade School
Individuals receiving this scholarship will use the award money to assist with the continuation of learning. The goal of the scholarship is to award those who have worked through learning challenges, and are continuing advancing to ever-higher pursuits. D.R.E.A.M.S is one of the only scholarship programs in the country that honors and rewards the hard work and potential of special education students.
Since 2000, D.R.E.A.M.S. has awarded more than $190,000 of higher education scholarships to more than 30 students in the Los Angeles area. It is the intention of the selection committee to award at least one $2,500 scholarship annually. Additionally, D..R.E.A.M.S. will endeavor to publicly present the scholarship at each recipient’s school, during his/her senior awards event.
Due to time constraints, late applications cannot be considered. ALL requirements (completed application, two letters of recommendation, a copy of high school transcripts, first page of current I.E.P, and essay) must be postmarked by April 15, 2017.
This year, D.R.E.A.M.S. will not be awarding scholarships to students who are not supported by a current I.E.P.
Also, please note that the essay must be written in response to the specific requirements outlined in the D.R.E.A.M.S. scholarship application; therefore, submitting copies of other college essays will result in automatic disqualification. Please email email@example.com with any questions.
